Retconning
While RP writers naturally have complete control of their individual characters, a character’s actions, attire, and interactions should be true to context, meaning a sensible reflection of their character and their environment. As a rule, we do not permit any form of retconning/retracting/reversing RP events. (This refers public/Group RP events.) The reason for this is because retconning encourages an atmosphere in which IC actions do not have IC consequences, which can completely deconstruct the creative realism of the environment in which our characters exist and interact. If anyone could at any time magically “undo” a scene that did not go as planned, it completely removes the responsibility a writer has to stay true to that character’s actions, knowing that what they do will have repercussions. It also prevents characters from growing in unexpected ways that surprise even their writers.
This being said, any player has the right to back out or change their mind about any private interaction with any player that makes them feel uncomfortable, without having to explain themselves. You are not forced to interact and hang out with everyone, and are not expected to continue to force yourself into a situation that you do not enjoy.
